NEVADA Part 10

At this point, Nevada does not have jurisdiction to make a custody determination.  Children need to reside in Nevada for at least six months to establish “home state.”

What are my options if we have not lived in Nevada for six months?

Either wait until the children have resided in Nevada for six months or seek a custody determination in the last state of residency.  If the other party still resides in the children’s prior state of residency, he/she can file for custody there until the children have lived in Nevada for six months.  The inverse is true if you move away from Nevada after having resided here.
