How is child
support determined?
Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) provides specific
guidelines for the amount of child support to be awarded. The court considers
the non-custodial parent's gross income and the number of children involved.
The amount of support may be adjusted. Other factors considered may include but
are not limited to: the costs of the baby's birth; the cost of health
insurance; the cost of child care; and any, special education needs. See NRS
125B.070 and NRS 125B.080.
