Does the Response have to be served like the Petition?
No. All papers of either spouse must be filed with the Clerk
of Superior Court. Copies of these papers also must be made available to the
other spouse. But after the Summons and Petition are served on the Respondent,
all other papers may be mailed to the other spouse or to the other spouse's
attorney, if that attorney has filed papers in the case. The Response may be
served on the Petitioner by first class mail.
