NEBRASKA Part 35
An appeal to a higher court can cost you a lot
of money. It could take quite a while before the appeals court makes a
decision. Your lawyer should talk to you about whether or not he or she thinks
your appeal will be successful. The appellate judges will not change the
District Court Judge's decision unless they feel he/she was clearly unfair or
made a serious mistake of some kind. If your lawyer tells you that your chances
of winning are not good, you may want to get a second opinion, but do it right
away. There are short time limits that must be met.
