NEBRASKA Part 65

PARENTING PLAN

If you have children, you will need to submit a proposed Parenting Plan at your final divorce hearing. You and your spouse need to attempt to agree on a Parenting Plan for raising your children. The Judge will want to review this plan at your divorce hearing. The plan will need to say where the children will live, which parent is responsible for getting them to school, etc. If you and your spouse cannot agree upon a Parenting Plan, you may need to go to Mediation to see if a mediator can help you come up with a plan. If you still cannot reach an agreement, you may have to ask the Judge to order a plan—if that happens, each parent may submit a plan to the Judge and the Judge can pick one, or come up with a different plan.
