The part of the agreement that involves custody and
parenting time is called the “Parenting Plan”. As part of this plan, you and
your spouse can agree on the responsibilities for raising your children and how
much time you will each spend with the children. Remember, there will need to
be give and take on both sides. The Parenting Plan should be what is best for
the children—not what is best for the parents. A proposed Parenting Plan is
required to be submitted at the final hearing or trial in all divorce cases
that involve custody.
