Nevada may maintain jurisdiction if the parties agree to it,
if the noncustodial parent still resides in Nevada and the court orders it, or
if no one files it in another state.
There are some benefits to maintaining your case in Nevada. If there is an emergency visitation problem,
you would only have to file a motion, which costs $25, and the matter would be
set quickly, rather than filing to domesticate your foreign judgment and
incurring more court costs, time delay, and educating a new court on what has
happened in the past.
