Step 5:

The abuser does have a right to be heard at the next hearing. The clerk will inform you when you need to come back (in a few days). Now, to get your standard Tennessee restraining order, you need to prevail at that hearing by presenting sufficient evidence of the domestic abuse, stalking or sexual assault. This is how you get a protective order in Tennessee.
