RHODE ISLAND Part 49

Since child support guidelines differ so much from state to state it's important that you use the appropriate child support guidelines for determining how support will be calculated for your case.

Every child is entitled to be supported by both parents until they reach the age of majority (usually 18) or become emancipated. In Rhode Island the age of emancipation for the purpose of child support is 18. Child support enforcement is a joint effort of the Federal and State government to help families establish paternity when needed, and obtain and enforce child support orders.
