Can a parent change the child’s last name without the other
parent’s permission?
It is possible for this to happen. However, if it does
occur, you can go into court to ask that the name be changed back to the prior
name. Typically, when parents enter into a Separation/Settlement Agreement,
there is usually an agreement that neither party will allow the child’s name to
be changed.
