OHIO Part 44

5.      What do we need to do to get TRO?

How to Get an Ohio Restraining Order

Ohio has two main types of restraining orders - a domestic violence protection order and a "stalking or sexually oriented offense" protection order. Ohio victims of violence or stalking need to first figure out which restraining order applies to them. They can then find a local court to request an order. Because many victims simply do not have money to request such a restraining order, state law requires the court to provide either type of protection order free of charge.
