OHIO Part 45

Step 1:

You need to first know which kind of Ohio restraining order applies to your situation. Domestic violence occurs when you have special relationship with the alleged abuser or stalker. The abuser must be your current or former spouse (or boyfriend/girlfriend), someone you do or did live with or someone with whom you have a child. It could also be a relative. In that case, you are going to file for an Ohio domestic violence protection order.

On the other hand, if the abuser does not fall into one of those categories, you need to file for a "stalking or sexually oriented offense" restraining order. It is helpful but not required to ask an attorney for help to determine if you qualify for one of these Ohio restraining orders.
